Tips for a clean hood

Hoods dripping grease

When the kitchen hood begins to drip grease, it's an indicator that it is time for the hood to be cleaned.

Smoke into the kitchen

When smoke from the hood enters into the kitchen, it's an indicator that it is time for the hood to be cleaned.

Fan rotation slows down

When the kitchen exhaust fans begin to slow down, it usually means that there is a build-up of grease and it is an indicator that it is time for the hood to be cleaned.

Service Hoods every 3 months

In order to ensure the safety of customers and to prevent fire, it is highly recommended  that kitchen hoods are cleaned every 3 months.  Reguarly cleaned kitchen hoods, promote a healthy and safe environment for everyone.

Wood Burning Grills

Wood burning grills produce larger amounts of grease build-up than the traditional gas stove or grill; therefore, it is recommended that the hoods of these types of grills are cleaned every two weeks or once per month.  The service time depends on the volume of cooking and the amount of grease build-up on the hoods.

Clean filters once per week

Each kitchen hood contains filters, these filters build-up grease during grill or stove usage.  It is recommended that restaurant owners clean filters once per week to prevent heavy build-up of grease between hood cleaning services.  Too much grease build-up can result in filters being unserviceable and ultimately requiring replacement.
